It’s been around a year since I’ve started blogging on this new site, and I have to first and foremost thank you, dear friend for joining me on this journey!
Looking back, this year has certainly sped by and I’ve been so appreciative and humbled by where this blog has gone and the new learning experiences I’ve had with it. There have been challenges and victories with many posts and there is so much that I have learned.
One thing I love about blogging is being able to find connection and community.
There are so many wonderful bloggers and writers out there that have continued to inspire me on a daily basis. I’m in awe of what each blogger does especially over the work and effort that is put in to blogging. From drafting posts, to editing, to taking pictures, and finally integrating each post with social media, the creative process has amazed me. Whether or not you’re a blogger, there’s definitely so many steps that help to make blogging enjoyable.
So, with that being said, I’d love to share a few of my favorite posts from the last year. There have been some that make me smile, some that make me think, and most of all, each post marks a moment in this past year that I’d love to share the story behind.
Quick backstory behind this post…
Before I was blogging at LemonadePressBlog.com, I was posting randomly on a blog called, “Joyfull Happenings”. This was started way back in college when I had started a blog to inform my out-of-state family about events going on while I was away. I loved being able to write and this period in blogging introduced me to some of my favorite bloggers at the time. (Did anyone else have one of those low-key travel or college blogs they kept on Blogger??)
When I started looking around at other more professional blogs, I realized they had started to self-host and were posting consistently on social media. I quickly realized if I wanted to further my blog, I’d need to do the same. So thus grew out of this process, LemonadePressBlog! I loved doing the research behind self-hosting and posting on social media, and I especially enjoyed configuring my blog. Despite the length of time it took to complete this process of self-hosting, it was definitely worth it.
So, this post, Meet Caitlin, is what I consider my first big post on LemonadePress where I introduce myself on this new space. I also loved this scarf and couldn’t help but take pictures outside in the falling leaves!
Bopping Around Boulder
One of my favorite parts about living in Colorado is being able to explore and head up to the mountains. The mountains partnered with good friends makes things even better. So, when my friend Connor was in town, we took him up to Boulder to hang out. This post to me exudes joy, something which was at the heart of JoyFull Happenings when I started blogging, and Joy is the emotion I want people to walk away with after reading this blog at LemonadePress.
Also, I can’t help but smile because this picture basically sums me up: ice cream + stripes + Colorado.
Even though this post was written almost exactly a year ago, I still love these pictures! Like I said before, I can’t really get enough of the mountains! There’s something so freeing and peaceful about being in the Rockies and this day was no different. When the leaves change, it’s all you can do to keep me down in the city. The Fall foliage really can’t be beat!
I also ended up using this image in one of my favorite posts about Establishing An Instagram Theme.
Reminders To Take Time To Rest
Rest has always been a big theme for the blog and for myself. I’m of the belief that if we don’t take care of ourselves, then we can’t help others around us. I ended up writing this post after being sick in bed with the flu in December. Nothing like sickness to remind you that rest is important! Throughout this past year, blogging has helped me to remember to rest and find balance. It’s kind of ironic that as I have blogged, I have found a better balance in what I do.
Also, there’s just something so great about the festive reds of this post. Anyone else excited for Christmas yet???
I’ve really loved writing about holding on to moments, and this post was definitely one of those. The pictures are from my friend, Connor, and I loved this photo-adventuring day that it documented!
Walking Guide Through Denver
One of the biggest benefits of blogging is that it has pushed me to get out and explore more. I love having the excuse of blogging to grab the camera and go somewhere new. It’s opened my eyes to a whole new side of adventure. This day was just that-enjoying the sights of Denver. Even though I’ve lived in Colorado my whole life, (except for college), taking pictures and documenting moments has shown me a whole new side to this state. I love being able to document those moments!
Travel Bug + First Vlog
Who even knew what Vlogging was before Blogging? I for one didn’t. I loved creating this first vlog of mine, something which has given me inspiration to create more!
Besides Vlogging, I have loved that this blog has become a place to document my travels throughout the year. I feel so lucky I’ve been able to travel, and this has been such a great place to reflect upon those travels. I think one of my favorite posts on this topic was also written two years ago.
Life Lessons In Your Twenties
Besides learning about things after you graduate from college, life in your twenties brings a whole new ballgame. It’s definitely been one interesting and wonderful ride, but I wouldn’t trade being able to reflect on this unique decade in life.
Intentional is definitely a word I feel I use pretty consistently. However, I’ve been learning the importance of really making an effort with how you spend your time. It’s something that can only add value to your own life, as I know it’s added value to mine.
Faith has been so important to me, and I have appreciated so much, the support on the blog from my posts about faith. It’s been uplifting to see, and I hope that in turn, you can read some of those posts and be inspired as well.
Also, I’ve loved working with so many wonderful photographers!! ZoeyGrace Photography is fabulous if you are looking for a photographer around Denver.
I’ve loved talking about fitness here on the blog as it’s something I really invest a great deal of time in each week. (Or strive to!) It was fun being able to talk about the marathon this year as well as show a few of my favorite ways to fit working out in to each week.
Finding Inner Beauty
One of the biggest things I believe is that each person is so incredibly beautiful. We all have unique traits and characteristics that make us unique. It’s up to us to see it and be able to seek out that beauty.
Like I said before, I hope that this blog is a place to inspire and leave you joy-filled. There’s so much to be happy and grateful for in life.
Thank you so much for coming on this journey with me! I’m humbled and grateful for this place and the community I’ve found through it. It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t close without thanking some wonderful people.
There have been so many bloggers and writers that have inspired me along the way, as well as readers who have helped to shape this space. To you all…Thank you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
What a year!
Who knows what will come next??
