This weekend the weather was balmy and beautiful-around 70 degrees. Today, it’s snowing. If you haven’t heard, the phrase to describe the weather in Colorado is this: “If you don’t like the weather, wait an hour.”
Oh boy it is true.
But before the snow came, Saturday was absolutely gorgeous! I have been trying to learn more about photography and with my Dad’s wonderful Nikon, I decided a quick trip outdoors was what I needed to practice my new found photography skills. 🙂
So with nothing but warm weather, I headed to Daniel’s Park which is not too far away and is located near Castle Pines, CO.
My goal was to photograph the buffalo herd which usually roams here, unfortunately the buffalo were at their second location. (The herd is moved occasionally from different locations throughout the state.) However, the view from this park is pretty incredible. You can look at the entire Front Range stretching from Castle Rock to Red Rocks, Longs Peak, all the way to the Boulder Flatirons.

I have been working on determining good aperature, shutter speed and ISO.
I still have much to learn with my photography skills. For now, the afternoon was wonderful to spend at this iconic Denver location.
If you’re ever in the Denver area, I would highly recommend taking a quick trip to Daniel’s Park. It is well worth the effort. (Especially at sunrise or sunset!)
