One of my goals on my 101 in 1001 list, was to visit Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, and this weekend, I accomplished it! I was even able to go with one of my favorite people. It was a perfectly beautiful February (<—What?!?!) day. With temperatures in the sixties, I think many had the same idea to visit this beautiful place.
Set against the backdrop of Pikes Peak, this natural park boasts a wide variety of rock formations. The associated Visitor Center offers visitors a history of how these rocks came to be. A wide variety of trails wind through the rocks. Because of traffic we didn’t see the park in its entirety, but managed to traverse across much of the park.
Even the clouds were light and wispy. If I didn’t know better I would have thought it was May!
For further trips to this place, I would definitely recommend bringing hiking boots, or even plan on running all of the trails. A true Colorado gem, sun or snow!
