What I’ve Loved This Week
This week has been filled with lots and lots of little things. I have to say, I am oh so grateful to have time to finally check things off my to-do list that had been building the final month of school. I’ve been creating lists in my iPhone and then checking them off as I complete them, and let me tell ya, there’s something so rewarding about finally ticking those little boxes off in my notes section. (It’s also been wonderful to have those notes right at my fingertips and with me all the time. I’m only now wondering why I haven’t used the “Notes” App more frequently.)
This week felt so productive. From helping a friend at her wedding-dress fitting to buying a new Point-and-shoot camera! (Yippie!!) It’s been a whirlwind. I ended up investing in the Nikon CoolPix L340, which will be great for hiking and traveling, instead of using the (My Dad’s!) Nikon D3200. I’m still on the fence about picture quality, but for what it does, I’m enjoying it. At some point I would love to invest in my own DSLR, but for right now, I’m grateful to be using his! I also can’t wait to use this guy on the next few trips in June! (For now, my first few experimental pictures can be seen here. I’m hoping to up my knowledge of this camera soon! I just couldn’t wait to share!)
Blogging wise, I’ve noticed a pretty obvious trend across the blogo-sphere. That’s the trend that many bloggers are getting tired. It’s tough to churn out content three times a week and the comparison game on Social Media doesn’t help all that much. I’m hoping to write about this in a post coming next week!
For now…here’s some lovely stories from around the web and things that are inspiring me. I hope to leave you with a bit of inspiration as well!
1 // I seriously love this article by Nora Ephron. Her uncanny ability at story-telling made this article about her own apartment a must-read.
2 // As a twenty-something Millenial (Key word there, millenial), I’m consciously thinking about finances just about 99% of the time. This was a great post about living savvy while saving.
3 // June 6th was the anniversary of D-Day, and it’s interesting that much of what we have left of that time in history are pictures and stories written down. As many survivors have past on from that time, I think it’s really important to remember those days. One way people are remembering those times are taking black and white pictures and re-coloring them. I was blown away by this re-coloring, which reveals so much about the scene and famous pictures!
4 // Rae, from Rae Everyday, is a pretty dynamic person and blogger. I’ve been so impressed with her work and genuine passion about loving the body that you have every single day. Her post on loving yourself in your swimwear was published on Aerie, and it is amazing!
5 // One of my biggest insecurities is actually the acne that I deal with on a day to day basis. I have been shocked and frustrated with how much acne I have, especially way past my teens (when I feel like I should have had acne), as a result, I’ve worked to find pretty much anything to help the problem and just can’t seem to squash it yet fully. Summer Wind wrote a marvelous post about dealing with adult acne. I have used some of these products and they really do work!
6 // The company I was working with on my post on comfortable clothing, Tommy John, is now live! You can view the post below. It’s been enjoyable working with other bloggers to explain what we think makes clothing most comfortable. Comfort is highly rated at this point in time, and it’s something I think we all desperately seek in our clothing. If you’re interested in learning more about the brand, you can check them out here. If you’re interested in learning more about the brand, you can check them out here. They also have a new page featuring their latest boxer brief products!
What are some things that you’ve found that you love this week??
