Maybe we should characterize quarantine and social distancing as the period when we all bought weird things! When I started to create this post, I realized there wasn’t rhyme or reason to these favorites that I’ve bought. In reality, it’s all odd purchases or things I’ve truly appreciated in this crazy year.
These sandals dubbed as “Birkencrocs” have been shown all over Instagram and after buying a pair-I totally get the hype. They are comfortable and easy to wear and perfect for the water! I wore them all week when we were in Minnesota, and even though I was a bit skeptical at first, I am sold on them.
I just ordered this yoga mat to replace my previous one that has gotten a great deal of use for the last 7 years and I absolutely love it! It is certainly something that Sparks Joy every time I hit the mat to practice some yoga or do an ab or arm workout. The pattern is gorgeous and I like that the length of this mat is longer than the previous mat I had.
3 // Bookshelf
I saw Cierra and Phoebe with these bookshelves on Instagram and after accumulating more books to read during our time at home, I realized I needed a bigger shelf to store all my books. I absolutely love this shelf; it’s added great storage space for books and it’s been fun to style! It took a little while to assemble, but was well worth it!
4 // Desk Top Table Top
This butcher block table top has been on my wish list for a few years. I love the wood table top and I’m obsessed with working at my desk now! It’s a gorgeous color and now my desk feels even more professional.
5 // Needlepoint Kit
I’ve been slowly working my way through needlepoint kit after kit from Sheena Rogers Designs on Etsy. I’ve loved her kits as they include a detailed pattern, needlepoint canvas, threads, needle, and backing! Her kits are affordable and easy to use and are each whimsical and detailed! I cannot recommend her kits enough. (Just a heads up that her work comes from the UK so take into account shipping delays due to COVID.)
6 // Three Drawer Organizer for Paint
I purchased a few of these organizers that are the perfect size for watercolor paints and can hold quite a few! I love their compact size and the fact that they are textured which elevates their look.
7 // Gold Cookbook or Book Stands
I’m in love with the classy look of these cookbook stands! It gives any displayed book or any recipe book open while you’re cooking a decorative look!
8 // Mini-Steam Iron
You know you’re an adult when you get really excited about an iron! This little portable iron is perfect. It’s quick to heat up and fits in the palm of your hand. I love that I can travel with it (at some point!) and use it for small craft projects. It’s also easy to store!

You are so right, I think everyone has purchased the most random things in the last few weeks!! Your list seems so practical and functional though!

I so agree! It’s been funny to hear what people have purchased!
