One thing I have noticed popping up all over the place have been Little Free Libraries! This adorable concept has mini libraries on people’s lawns and in public spaces for readers to come and take a book and then leave one.
I love this concept! To me, there is nothing better than a free book, a good find; something to bury my nose in while enjoying the sun.
The concept of these Little Free Libraries started in Hudson, WI in 2009 when Ted Bol build one to honor his mother, a school-teacher. Since then, the idea has expanded and now you can find Little Free Libraries popping up all over the place! And in all different shapes and sizes! Each originates with the saying, “Take a Book, Leave a Book.” This convenient library is gaining in popularity all over the country.
If you are interested in finding where your local Little Free Library is, or other locations, you can find that here!
If you are interested in starting your own Little Free Library, those instructions are here!
Your Turn! Have you seen any Little Free Libraries around you?
