I am thrilled to be starting a New Year! Somehow January 1st always feels full of hope and excitement. It’s the beginning of a fresh new start, and so many possibilities. Yesterday I posted my New Year’s Goals. They’re rather broad, but I didn’t want to confine myself to specific goals. This year, my goals are serving more as a direction in which I’d like to go this year. Anyone else choosing to do the same?
2017 has already been off to a great start! I spent the morning cleaning and purging, since one of my goals is to buy less and appreciate what I have already. We also took time to take down the Christmas decorations. Even though it is sad the Christmas season is done, I take heart that the Joy of the Season lives on.
This winter has been fairly warm, with some incredibly chilly days thrown in. While it’s been warm, I’ve loved bopping around in my Black Friday purchases! I scoped out J.Crew Factory on Black Friday and found this adorable boat-neck shirt which is just the right weight. It was a shirt I had had my eyes on since the Fourth of July and I found it for less than $15! (Confession: Online I thought the shirt I bought was actually blue and red, but showed up in brown and blue. Truthfully, I like the brown and blue better, it fits the Warm-ish days this Winter!) Other similar styles here, here, and here. There’s also a few other J. Crew Options that I love.
I also have been wearing my new Patagonia Better Sweater Vest non-stop this break. It’s the perfect weight and is suitable for skiing as well. This was on my wishlist for years as well, and was so worth the wait.
Can’t forget the Converse as well! This has been my go-to outfit this break.
Other projects to start off 2017? Right now I’m looking at some planning for my classroom as well as continuing on with my reading list!
There is also a brand-new Shop page on my blog featuring various products and looks featured here on the blog. I’m excited to share them with you!
What are some things you are doing to start off your New Year?

Good luck with all your goals for 2017! 🙂 One goal of mine is to take more time to de-stress during the week since it’s been a little overwhelming transitioning into the busy schedule of college life… Love the look of your blog!
