Happy New Year, friends!
Can you believe it’s 2021? I’m still in shock that it’s here. The year that has felt the most anticipated for months has finally arrived and it feels like a giant relief. While I don’t know what 2021 will include, I am hopeful for what is to come.
There is so much anticipation for this coming year, and I know I haven’t been alone in that I’ve felt it in my bones for months now. There is a lot to come this year; Innaguration Day (!!), and things that were put on hold in 2020 that will hopefully happen.
I really am trying to not look back at 2020 with much anger or frustration. In reality, there were many blessings amongst the crazy. Getting engaged, watching some of my dearest friends become mothers and dog mothers, long phone calls with old friends, listening and learning, weekly Yahtzee tournaments with my extended family, a memorable holiday season celebrating with loved ones from afar, Virtually Best Friends Podcast, and connecting with my students virtually with my slippers on!
I think in many ways, there were several things that got me through 2020: family, Ryan, friends, needlepointing, Peleton workouts, and hands down…faith.
Which for this coming year, instead of making big goals, I’ve decided that I’m just going to work on walking by faith. Trusting in God’s plan and relying on Him.
However, I couldn’t not have some small goals for this year. Looking back at 2020’s goals, I had some very specific ones. While I did not get to 100 books on my book list, one goal I have for this year to read 100 books. I’m also keeping on my list goals to stay accountable, be thoughtful about my spending, and take time to listen and learn.
I have a few other goals that I’ll be sharing on the blog this month, which leads me to another goal: blog more consistently! I’ve missed writing more in 2020 and planning out posts for 2021 has been a joy this month!
And truly, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for sticking along on this journey through 2020. Whatever you have been through, whether joyful moments or challenging ones, I hope you feel the joy and love being sent your way and the hope for 2021.
